Montessori (pronounced MON-tuh-SORE--ee) education was founded in 1907 by Dr. Maria Montessori, the first woman in Italy to become a physician. She based her educational methods on scientific observation of children's learning Processes. As a physician and educator, she observed that children flourished in a stimulating and orderly environment. She believed that early childhood education should cultivate a child’s natural desire to learn. Dr. Montessori developed materials that would control children’s movements, be self-correcting, manipulative and help to develop their intellect. At Kiddie Korner Montessori School (KKMS) we offer variety of Montessori educational programs backed by many years of research and observation that are proven to benefit your child.
The basic idea in the Montessori philosophy of education is that all children carry within themselves the person they will become. We understand how important nurturing a child is and therefore At KKMS our mission is based on the guiding principles of Montessori education – We believe “For any child to develop physical, intellectual and spiritual potential, the child must have freedom which is based on order and self-discipline”. Our Montessori certified teachers will help your child achieve their individual potentials to their fullest.

Our Montessori Way of Teaching
According to the teachings of Dr. Montessori, children from birth till they are six years of age go through the first plane of development. During this stage of life kids are Sensorial explorers and are constantly building intellects by absorbing every aspect of their environment, their language and their culture. Children incarnate into themselves all the world (environment) that they see through their eyes and hear through their ears. An example of this wonder is how a child picks up his mother tongue although he may not remember the words but can reproduce them via imitation.
Did You KNOW? Out of all the sounds in their environment infants are attracted to human sounds.
Furthermore, a child uses all five senses- touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing - to understand and absorb information about his or her environment. Therefore, our curriculum based on the sensorial method is designed to stimulate, motivate, and develop the use of hands and tongue, the development of walking.
